The Long and Short of the Contest...


Ok all, I have decided on the deets of the 21 Day Challenge. If you would like to participate please leave me a comment and tell me what habit you will be working on for the next three weeks. Then either download and print my calendar or mark the dates on your own. Every Sunday I will have an update post when you can leave a comment updating us on your progress. At the end of the three weeks all of the people who made it to the end and commented on the very last Sunday checkin will be entered to win a Mystery Michigan Menagerie Box. In other words, a box of fun stuff with my home state logo on it. If the winner happens to be from Michigan and does not want the box then they can designate a new winner from the comments.

The deadline for entering is Monday night October 20th at 11:59 pm EST.

The contest ends on Sunday November 9th at 11:59 pm EST.

I will pick a winner which will be announced on Wednesday November 12th.

I am looking forward to seeing how everyone does and I am really excited about my very first contest. Good luck to everyone. The party starts tomorrow.

I will join in! Do I tell you my habit today???? I am going to start journaling. I have noticed a pattern starting to mindlessly nibble and I would like to know with some accuracy just how many calories, etc I take in each day. I think it will be a great way for me to challenge myself and be more accountable. I hate journaling so this will be a rough habit for me. I chose it because it is such a challenge!

Thank jebus for you! I totally need this right now. I'm going to go totally sadistic and say I will not eat chocolate for the next 21 days. I'm so going to regret this when PMS time comes charging around, but whatever.

Also, I'm going to make a habit of language study. 30 minutes everyday of reading, speaking, or studying Italian. I really need to build my vocab and this is the perfect way to do it.

Hopefully you got my comment on the post from the 18th...if not...I'm in! My goal is to cut out candy (and other sweets) and prove that I have an ounce of self discipline (right before Halloween!) and to lose 5 lbs in 3 weeks...starting weigh-in will be tonight!

What to choose?! I have so many habits I need to change/adopt. Seeing as it's football season and Halloween, I don't think it's reasonable to swear off junk food or eating out. I'll do my best to cut out these things, but I know I can drink 8 glasses of water every day. Since I started exercising more, I can totally feel when I'm dehydrated during running, but I still haven't done anything about it. Starting today, 21 days of drinking 8 cups of water! I'm off to the water fountain now.

I told you this already, but count me in - twice :) I'm going to run every day (minimum of 1 mile for it to count) and I'm also going to avoid all "processed carbs" (check my blog for the detailed description of how I definte that.

Day 1 was totally successful!!!
