Training, Day 6

Well, as you can see I didn't start this blog on my first day of training. Why you might ask?

Well it's really none of your business but since you asked I guess I can tell you.

You see, I have a problem. I always get really excited about starting things but then at about week three I loose interest or start something else and whatever my goal was just sort of drops away. I never mean for this to happen but it does. I don't know what part of my brain it is that says "Ok, it's been three weeks and I have had enough! Look, over there, it's something shiny and pretty and it's not moving. Go look at it! Now!" but I would really like to shut it up. That is my goal this time around. I am working on building a life long habit one week at a time. I am going to make it past that three week threshold of mine if it kills me.

Ok well maybe not to that extreme but you get the idea. So every couple of days I will post my workout stats and let you all know how I am doing. Hopefully I can entertain you enough to keep you coming back. If not you can at least check in every once in a while to see how my goal is coming along. I will try to have a new goal every month to keep myself motivated, and eventually when I am ready, I will start training for a race. Don't get too excited though. Remember the bear.

Today's Stat's:

Walk/Jog Intervals.
Jogged 5 times today at about 30 seconds each. Felt great.
High effort.
2.19 miles.
46:27 Minutes.
267 Calories Burned.
130 minimum beats per minute(bpm-heart rate)
136 average bpm.
170 maximum bpm.
268 run weight. (down from 284 at my last doc visit. Yea!!!)

My run went so well today. This was my long one for the week. The majority of my runs are at a little over a mile right now while I am building up strength and endurance. The workout was long and tough but I made it all the way to Liberty Bridge and back feeling pretty good. Actually Butter (the dog) was more worn out than I was! She kept stopping under every shady tree she could find and laying down till I caught up and made her move again. Probably would have had a better time if I hadn't taken her but she needed the exercise (was begging for it actually) as much as I did. Besides, she's young, she'll be ok.

Well that's it for me today, I'll talk to ya'll tomorrow.
Happy Training,
Love Jenn

Sounds like you are a quitter to me. We'll see if you are still updating in a week.

Oh, honey, there is no turning back from this addiction. I too was once a start-stopper, but once I ran my first straight mile, I was hooked. A man I worked with at the time asked if I would still be running in a year... I am proud to say I was able to visit him three years later and say, "Yes I am!" You will too! Have fun with it! :)
